Frequently Asked Questions

What do Local Committees Do?

HUB Local Committees are at the heart of HUB's advocacy efforts. Made up of people who live, work, bike, walk, and vote in their communities, committee members bring valuable lived experience to the table. They're in the best position to speak up and push for safety improvements where they matter most. Here are some of the things our committees do:

  • Writing letters to decision-makers
  • Providing feedback on future transportation projects
  • Meeting with politicians, planners, and engineers
  • Organizing rides to assess cycling conditions
  • Hosting community events and building local alliances
  • Local Committees are the backbone of HUB Cycling’s advocacy, and the work they do has already led to major improvements across the region.

Visit the Committee Wiki pages to see examples of past letters sent to decision makers, committee assessment bike ride infrastructure reports and past meeting minutes.
