Wed, June 3 @ 5:30 PM. Family Bike Parade – World Bicycle Day

Bring the kids, invite your friends, and join us for a joyful, low-stress neighbourhood bike ride made especially for families with young children!

Decorate your bikes, scooters, or trailers with balloons, streamers, and anything fun—this is all about creativity, laughter, and making memories together.

We’ll gather at Queen Mary Playground, ride at a relaxed, kid-friendly pace along the bike path around Victoria Park, loop past the school, cruise down Jones Ave, and finish with a celebration at Mahon Park Playground—with cake for all finishers!

This is a short, easy ride (about 15–20 minutes) with lots of support along the way. Whether your child is just learning or already zooming ahead, they’ll fit right in.

This project is supported by Vancouver Foundation

Wed, June 3 @ 6:30 PM. Gravel Buddies & Chill Rides YVR in Stanley Park

Meeting 6:30pm at Second Beach on the grassy area by the playgrounds.

Social hang at Third Beach after the ride. Beginner gravel riders friendly.

This no-drop ride is for women, gender-diverse and 2SLGBTQIA+ riders.  This is a social, unguided ride; everyone is responsible for their own decisions.

Thur, June 4 @ 7 AM: Science World to Burnaby Lake, via Central Valley Greenway

A friendly Go By Bike Week morning commuter ride. This will be a 'bike train' where you can get aboard at various stops in the ride. We begin at Science World at 7, visit the Celebration Station at CVG and Gilmore from 7:45 to 8:15, and arrive at Deer Lake/Burnaby City Hall by 8:45.

This flat, scenic and safe route is suitable for all abilities and all types of bikes or micromobility devices. About 90% of the ride is on protected bike lanes or paved trails. We’ll follow all traffic rules and ride at a leisurely pace.

We will be joined on the ride by a very special guest: Active Transportation Consultant Richard Campbell, who originally envisioned the Central Valley Greenway in the early 2000's. Richard will share fascinating history and factoids along the ride.

To register, email Carmen at carmen.mills@burnaby.ca
